Pricewaterhouse Coopers Switzerland brings exhibit of Filipino artist to Berne
Pricewaterhouse Coopers International Ltd (PwC) Switzerland brings to
the City of Berne the exhibit of multi-talented Filipino artist
Hilarius Dauag. Entitled “New Life” the exhibit showcases Dauag’s
experiences when he performs in public as a musician, as captured in
In his opening remarks during the
vernissage held on 04 October, Ambassador Leslie Baja expressed his
appreciation to PwC for hosting and supporting the exhibit.
“We are sincerely thankful to
Pricewaterhouse Coopers for bringing to Berne the works of Hilarius
Dauag. Filipino artists like him serve as a cultural bridge between the
Philippines and Switzerland and promotes better understanding between
our peoples through arts,” said Ambassador Baja.
The exhibit, which is
housed at the PwC Exhibition Hall in Berne, will run from 04 October
2012 to 18 January 2013.
Hilarius Dauag, who is also an
established musician and composer, was born in Ilagan, Isabela in
northern Philippines. He studied jazz and ethnic music at the
University of the Philippines’ Conservatory of Music. He is also a
master balafon player, having studied for many years directly under the
balafon masters of Burkina Faso. His music is strongly rooted in his
indigenous Cordillera heritage Ibanag. END
